developed to soothe and hydrate the hands of our founder Dr. Naidu immediately following surgery, this crème was formulated to absorb quickly and help restore the skin barrier of the hands, without any sticky or waxy residue. layered with mango butter, ceramide NP, marula oil, allantoin, calendula, and amaranth, it's a (yellow) green juice for your hands.
some batches of this crème may be lighter or darker in color than pictured secondary to crop variations of the natural ingredients.

mango butter is a rich natural fat derived from the seeds of the mango fruit. when used topically, it nourishes skin and boosts elasticity as well as suppleness, making skin appear smoother and firmer. it's high in omega fatty acids as well as vitamins A and E.
a sacred part of several African cultures, marula oil supports skin health, repairs skin damage caused by pollutants, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes, facilitates wound healing and prevents moisture loss from the skin. it also soothes itching when applied to dry or damaged skin caused by eczema or psoriasis. marula contains a high percentage of monounsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants.
naturally occurring in the comfrey plant, allantoin has soothing and anti-irritating properties. it has a moisturizing and keratolytic effect, increasing the water content of the extracellular matrix and enhancing the desquamation of upper layers of dead skin cells, which in turn promotes skin smoothness. cell proliferation and wound healing are supported. allantoin is able to stimulate healthy tissue formation even at low concentrations.
panthenol, or provitamin B5, is the precursor of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and a substance present in all living cells. panthenol is able to improve hydration, reduce water loss and maintain skin elasticity and softness. studies have shown that panthenol promotes epithelialization and granulation, while mitigating itching with an anti-inflammatory effect. when used over the course of three to four weeks, it has the potential to decrease the appearance of dryness, roughness, scaling, itching, and redness.
red mandarin
red mandarin essential oil is cold-pressed from the peel of fully ripened fruits. it shows anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. the aroma is both uplifting and deeply relaxing.
amaranth
amaranth is high in omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, and is able to penetrate deeply into the skin, acting as a carrier for other ingredients. its squalane content provides anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidation properties. amaranth helps to provide a barrier to transepidermal water loss (TEWL) while providing skin regeneration properties helpful for those with psoriasis and dermatitis.
calendula
calendula extracts possess high levels of phytosterols and have been used since the 16th century to soothe and restore irritated, dry, and damaged skin. calendula soothes inflammation and irritation, and is considered to be safe for use on open wounds. its use is also indicated in burns and for healing scars given its regenerative properties.
xylitol
xylitol is a humectant that strengthens the skin's barrier and enhances the penetration of other ingredients.

what is a hand cream?
a hand cream is a moisturizing product designed to both hydrate and protect the hardest working parts of your body - your hands.
why is your hand cream in a jar instead of in a tube?
our hand cream does not contain wax, so its texture is smoother and much lighter than that of typical hand creams. this is better suited for a jar rather than a tube.
how often can I use a hand cream?
use a hand cream as often as you need to. we apply it before and after hard work, as well as during quiet moments of rest.
when should I use a hand cream?
while we prefer to use our crème when our skin is crying out for a hydration, it's also lovely right before bed to nourish your paws as you sleep.
