pitta season

Pitta season is the predominant dosha of the summer season. It is associated with heat, energy, and fire. Key words associated with pitta dosha include hot, light, acidic, intense, transformative, sharp, and penetrating. Pitta types are usually of medium size and weight, and may have an athletic build. While their hair is often shiny and smooth, it can become prematurely gray. They are passionate, courageous, organized, and independent. Quick learners with a sharp intellect, pitta types make excellent public speakers, leaders, and teachers. When out of balance, they can be argumentative, stubborn, jealous, domineering, and prone to heartburn and headaches. Their skin is sensitive and often prone to acne, eczema, and psoriasis. To keep your skin, body, and mind in balance, eat cooling foods such as watermelon, cucumbers, and melons; avoid spicy foods and caffeine; and moisturize your skin with a facial oil every evening prior to bed.
